POSITION SCOPE: An Electrical Design Engineer in the Machinery Division is required to manage and perform tasks associated with electrical design and fabrication of packaging machinery.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for complete electrical project management including scheduling, planning, programming, machine power-up, test, debug, shipment and change orders.
  • Control system design for manufacturing equipment including control panel engineering, PLC, Servo and HMI programming, and start-up support.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors.
  • Machine system understanding, able to collaborate with Mechanical Engineers on what control features are required. Determine best control solutions with Mechanical Engineers.
  • Develop project documentation, electrical schematics, and program files for highly customized machines.
  • Coordinate multiple assignments for on time completion of projects.
  • Prioritize resources and delegate tasks. Track project progress and schedule on custom machinery.
  • Assist with customer check-outs and resolve detailed technical queries. Typical customer level interaction: Plant Managers, domestic and international operations.
  • Work with manufacturing, service, and customers to resolve machine problems.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • BSEE or BSEET or related degree in Automation/Controls preferred.
  • Experience with high-speed automation. Candidates with experience in beverage, or consumer products on high-speed packaging machines are preferred but consideration to other industries is acceptable.
  • Specific experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens Servos, PLCs and HMIs, control panel design, and the configuration of industrial communication networks such as ethernet, profinet, and/or profibus.
  • Experience with Beckhoff etherCat a plus.
  • 5-7 years of engineering experience with PLC, Servo and HMI automation applications and Project Management.

Ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.

Pay Range: $86,250.00$115,000.00
